Soundview Energy, active since 1991, is a specialized fuel marketing group with expertise in several core facets of the downstream petroleum market.

Company History

Soundview Energy, founded by current President Nicholas Fasano, has been an active NY Harbor physical oil participant since its 1991 inception. Prior to that time, Mr. Fasano carried a distinguished reputation within the global trade community cultivated by a long and diverse career.

This career pathway originated in Houston at Scallop Petroleum, a wholly owned Royal Dutch Shell Group Company, where he served as the managing director of the light-end distillate trade group.  After years of excellence and relationship building, Mr. Fasano embarked on an entrepreneurial venture by founding a NY based brokerage company, Bridgeview Energy.

Utilizing a unique background rooted in product blending, refinery processing, refinery feedstocks, and products trading, Bridgeview quickly became established as a unique “deal-making” brokerage operation.  This creative insight became a catalytic spark for deal creation between emerging markets such as Nigeria and the domestic Gulf Coast.  As Bridgeview continued to mature, the company became a conduit to a processing deal for the royal family of Abu Dhabi, the exclusive bunker supplier for Poland’s fishing fleet, and premier liaison to Indonesia’s LSWR market.

Ultimately, this global experience was focused inward on the New York Harbor and the Soundview Energy model was born.  Leveraging years of contact and skills building, Soundview was able to develop a niche in supporting downstream marketers compete and expand in the retail and wholesale market.

In this regard, Soundview currently operates in complete partnership with the Approved Oil Company.

Soundview's reach and focus encompasses physical products trading, financial futures trading, derivative & options trading, forward-curve pricing, inventory risk management, operations, inspection & reporting, and commercial storage & throughput negotiation.

Equipped with these tools, SVE's mission is to empower its core clientele to achieve excellence in marketing while protecting margins in the midst of volatile market conditions.  Soundview aims to promote sustainable growth through creative deal structuring intended at generating long-term advancement, commercial terms, and mutual prosperity for all involved parties.
